Spring: QuASA member org Trojans for Equality drafts proposal that pushes for Gender-Neutral housing, this proposal is retracted after a meeting with Residential Education (ResEd).

October: Josh DeMilta, Undergraduate Student Government (USG)’s Director of Diversity Affairs, conducts an online survey with 530 students participants that tested the student body’s general opinion about gender-inclusive housing:
 
 
 
 

 

October: Rainbow Floor R.A. Riss Emond sends in a proposal to her supervisor in late October, listing recommendations on how to make the Rainbow Floor more gender inclusive. It was subsequently submitted to ResEd.

Feb 2012 "Senate looks at transgender inclusiveness" [Daily Trojan]

March: The Undergraduate Student Senate unanimously passes a Resolution proposing a pilot program for gender-neutral housing

 

March 2012 "Resolution for gender-neutral pilot program passes" [Daily Trojan]

May: "Gender Inclusive" Housing Pilot Program launches in 2 Apartments on Rainbow Floor

 

May 2012 "The Rainbow Floor Gets Inclusive" [USC Student Affairs]

2013

Gender-Inclusive Housing is expands to all apartments on the Rainbow Floor, except those with first-year students

2014

February 7: Committee of USC Students for Gender Neutral Housing meets with Christina Davis, Director of Residential Education (ResEd)
 
March 11: Committee of USC Students for Gender Neutral Housing meets with Keenan Cheung, Director of Housing
 
April 3: Students launch officially launch petition and awareness campaign
April 2014: "QuASA petitions for gender-neutral housing" [Daily Trojan]
 
April 14: Public Gender Neutral Housing Town Hall meeting hosted by QuASA
 
Official letter of support released from the USC LGBT Resource Center and the USC Center for Women & Men
 
April 15: Resolution for Gender Neutral Housing Presented at Undergraduate Student Senate
April 2014 "USG considers gender-neutral student housing" [Daily Trojan]
 
April 22: Resolution for Gender Neutral Housing Passed Unanimously at Undergraduate Student Senate

Future:
Housing and Residential Education departments have agreed to meet monthly with student representatives from QuASA and the Undergraduate Government in order to devise a plan to propose to top administration for final approval
