Spirituality and Sexuality Retreat FAQ

How do I sign up?

Students are asked to fill out an application. The application is linked on the main retreat page.

Does it cost anything?

We ask that participants give a $10 deposit beforehand to hold their spot for the retreat.

I'm not "religious." Is that okay?

The retreat welcomes all participants of every background: religious, non-religious, spiritual, atheist, agnostic, etc. As long as you come with an open mind!

I'm don't identify as LGBT. Is that okay?

Every sexual and gender identity including supportive allies are welcome on the retreat. 

How long is the retreat?

Students leave on a Friday afternoon and return Sunday afternoon. 

I don't go to USC. Can I still attend?

At this time, the retreat is only serving the community at USC and its partner Hebrew Union College. 

Where does it take place?

The retreat takes place at the Brandeis-Bardin Institute in Simi Valley, CA.

What is provided with my deposit?

  • Transportation to and from retreat location.

  • Kosher meals and snacks. Vegetarian options available. 

  • Cabin-style housing. Mattress only provided. 

  • Camp activities such as mountain biking and ropes course. 

  • T-shirt. 

What should I bring with me?

Do you provide gender-neutral housing?

Yes! Multiple cabins are available and divided by female-identified only, male-identified only, and gender-neutral.
